Making an Informed PlanAre you pregnant? Have you fully explored all of your parenting options?Let’s look at some truths:
What will that plan look like? You may already have the emotional and practical resources to give your child the future she deserves. But if you are not sure you are ready for the fulltime responsibilities of parenthood, have you thought about providing parents for your baby? Provide parents? What does that mean?Have you considered adoption for your baby? Now don’t tune out or close the site. Take a minute and truly consider this parenting choice. In order to make a fully informed choice you must explore each option. Then you will know you made the best decision for your baby and you. Allow yourself the time necessary to make a good decision. I could never give my baby away!We understand that reaction and agree. No one wants to ‘give away her baby”. But let’s look a little closer at this idea of giving. You give away a stick of gum or a piece of candy, but is making an adoption plan really the same kind of transaction? No. If you take an honest look you will find that people who choose adoption actually give something to their children. They give their children a family. They create homes for their children. Adoption is motivated by the desire to give more to your child than you are able to provide. I would never know what happened to my baby if I placed her for adoption.Did you know that you have the power to choose the people who will raise your baby? Today there are many different kinds of adoption available. Depending on your wishes you can remain anonymous or you can create a plan that allows you to maintain some form of relationship with your child. Adoption plans are now as varied as the people involved. I don’t know anyone who has placed a baby or was adopted.Did you know that approximately 100 million Americans have been touched by adoption in their immediate families? That is a huge number of people, so if you decide adoption is right for you, you will not be alone. Adoption is a significant way families are created.Adoption is not right for everyone, but adoption is the right choice for some people. What will your parenting decision be? If you are interested in considering adoption further, we encourage you to visit a pregnancy center in your area to talk with a counselor about your options.
